Beginner Level

Oxford Reading Tree levels 1 – 4
Course Structure
Beginner students read Oxford Reading Tree stories, and practice phonics and vocabulary. Each story includes videos to help with pronunciation and a written exercise.
Chinese students also receive an accompanying video in Mandarin to help them to better understand the context.
Math
Students learn to count up to 100.

Intermediate Level

Oxford Reading Tree levels 5+
Oxford Discover 1 – 4
Reading
At this level, students have two options.
Option 1
They continue to study Oxford Reading Tree levels 4-16.
Option 2
They study Oxford Discover, the 2nd edition. I use Oxford Discover 1, 2, 3, and 4. There are 3 books at each level: a student book, a workbook, and a grammar book. In the student book, students practice reading and listening exercises. Homework is assigned from the workbook and grammar book.
Speaking
Students practice introductions and simple conversations in the Intermediate English level course. They also learn to talk about family, friends, and their hobbies.

Students at this level are typically in at least 4th grade and have a Lexile score of at least 700.

Reading Skill Sections provide the essential reading, academic, and critical thinking skills that learners require.
Target Vocabulary Practice teaches the most useful words and phrases needed for academic reading.
Great Writing by National Geographic
The Great Writing series by National Geographic guides students through the writing process step by step. It begins with mastering great sentences, progresses to crafting strong paragraphs, and ultimately teaches them to write compelling essays. Designed for academic writing, these books are excellent resources for preparing young learners for TOEFL and IELTS.
